This weekend we head up to London for Nordicana 2014, the UK's only festival that celebrates the brilliantly original media creations that stem from Nordic cultures. After the popular release of Stieg Larsson's The Millennium Trilogy books and films (also known as 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo') it caused the rest of the genre to reach unprecedented proportions after their release.
Combining dark themes in crime, thriller and fiction genres, this festival actively celebrates the talent behind these stories - stories that have raised a loyal fanbase in the UK after BBC Four aired some such as The Killing, Wallander and Borgen & The Bridge. Now into its second year, Nordicana doesn't just simply promote movies from this region, but also other aspects that makes the culture so rich - including the fashion, the good and drink, music, and even interior design and furnishings.
We're already waiting with a huge level of anticipation for this weekend so we thought it would only make sense to share it. There's no reason for you to not come and enjoy this festival that can give you an experience you will always remember, be you a writer, actor, composer, producer or a fan, there's going to be something for everyone. With a perfect mix of talent, ideas and enthusiasm, there's nothing that this immersive appreciation for the Nordic culture will fail to deliver.
