SilentArena, Wasserman, Drive and Battersea power station produce the worlds first silent projection mapping on the iconic London power station.
Last night saw SilentArena in attendance at the star studded inaugural Battersea Power Station Annual Party with 3,000 guests present. We were there as part of the celebrations to provide sound for the 4D light show, projected onto the north elevation of the building, which followed a ninety minute set from Sir Elton John. On the night we provided a full service to the organisers including technicians, hand-out staff and 3,000 headphones to ensure that no one missed out on the full experience of the show. The site is home to a pair of nesting peregrine falcons, the only known pair in London, whom have been nesting on site since 2000. As such noise needs to be limited outside the station so as not to disturb them with our high level of expertise and quality service provided, we were the perfect solution for this.
The light show was the climax of the evening presenting a montage of the cultural and historical heritage of the site. Generating power for 50 years, since ceasing power production the site has been host to numerous events and use as sets for film and TV including; Red Bull X-Fighters, Freeze Festival, DC's Batman: The Dark Knight, numerous appearances in Doctor Who as well as in BBC's Sherlock and of course the iconic Pink Floyd Animals album cover.
The Station is now undergoing a £750 million redevelopment to create 3,500 homes on the site. The event was a unique addition to the Station's history with Sir Elton adding "I never thought I'd be playing in Battersea Power Station. It's going to be an amazing development."
